The Monarch is based on the Fender Brownface Princeton (6G2) of the early 1960s.
Brownface Fender amps are coveted by collectors, and were only produced for a few years. They have been described as being somewhere between a tweed and
a blackface. One thing is for sure - they hit with a direct punch, and come loaded with a
bias wiggle tremolo which produces a smooth, deep and lush modulation. The Brownface Princeton has recently been brought back into production by Fender with the release of the Chris Stapleton signature model. Modifications to the original specification include 12" Emininence speaker,
adjustable bias, additional components to protect power tube section and changes to the grounding scheme. The Monarch sports similar modifications and as a result is not only very reliable but produces fantastic cleans and easily accessible overdrive.
The Monarch is a 12W combo amplifier with volume, tone, tremolo speed and intensity controls. The cabinet is crafted from finger jointed pine and is finished in Fender rough brown tolex and a wheat grill cloth (other finishes available).
The Monarch also comes with a single button footswitch for tremolo.
